Two years ago, the prelude to Five Minutes to Midnight was created as an online web journal. The journal only had three entries before it was turned into an publication through interested high school volunteers. This is how powerful volunteering at a local level is, and such an effect can easily be extrapolated to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and other causes. Starting local, filled with ideas and goals, can lead to change. This month's MDG-related article explains how you can get involved through grassroots initiatives. Doing so can help change the world.
